Another ImProof Story - A Guest Speaker Spot

I have been thinking about having a few guest speakers on here and thought what would be a better guest speaker then someone I advocated for and got them to quit smoking.  I have a family friend that I have know since I was a kid, I asked him if he would tell his story and let me post it on my page.  He didn't have a problem doing it, so here is his story...

Well I started smoking when I was 14yrs old. I started because I thought it was kinda cool looking, and maybe even a little sexy. All the “cool” kids were doing it so I thought I had better do it to (don’t want to be the “geek of the week”). I gradually work my addiction up to about a pack and a half a day.

             I never tried to quit, even though the doctor’s all said it would help ease my back pain (spinal stenosis). I would laugh at people who told me that “those things stink”, or “your gonna hafta go outside to smoke…it bugs me”. Everybody was smoking so get over it! Right???

             Then one day I see some vaporizers hanging on people’s necks and stuff, so I start to research it a little. Next thing I know Dawn comes to San Antonio for a funeral and hands me a starter kit. I think it was late January of 2014.

              I haven’t had a cigarette since! I’m now 47 yrs old and I can actually breathe a little again, not to mention how wonderful it is to actually taste stuff again. Also, would you believe that the Dr. actually got it right? My back pain has decreased…not a lot…but it has and (fingers crossed) I hope, will continue to do more so.

             When people say that vaping is not a habit it’s a hobby….you better believe it! I’ve never had so much fun trying new juices, buying new mods, meeting new people, and hanging out at my favorite local vape store (Texas Vape Stores). That starter kit got passed on to a friend in like 2 weeks, I had to have the VTR. Now I have the VTR and the SVD from Innokin. I have gone from a 30 nic level to a 6 nic level in just the 4 months I've been vaping.  I even got Dawn's uncle a K100 for a great price! Now I’m making stands for my friends, and some hand turned drip tips!

             Thank you so much Dawn for helping me stop smoking and setting me on the right path to good health! Love you like family girl!

I saw how quitting smoking changed my life and I am so glad I quit, but to get others to quit and start vaping is a pretty good feeling.  I love to advocate others, to help them quit, start vaping, direct them to the right device to start off with as well as companies, shop and ejuice.  I  love helping others, it is such a reward to see them vaping and be successful with the change.  I have been luck to help a handful of people and plan on helping more.  If there is anyone out there who needs help just ask, ask a vaper, ask me, go to a shop and ask questions, lets all kick the ash and make our path to a healthier us...

Dripping Misphitz Meat and Juice Jam! at The Vapor Project ATX

Hey everyone!!!   I went to a vape meet the Dripping Misphitz Meat and Juice Jam at The Vapor Project here in Austin and I had a great time!  I am a little embarrassed to say it was my first vape meet, but I WILL be attending more!  The Vapor Project was packed, there was people and clouds from wall to wall, as well as so many people out side.  There was food, drinks, cloud contest, raffles, live streams, "swag" and so much juice, oh so much juice.  There were a bunch of guest from different juice lines like Jason's Juice Joint, Ruckus Elixirs, Wacky Vapes, The Standard, The Steam Factory and so many more.  They also had a bunch of juice to give away either as a raffle or like a door prize for showing up like Axiom, Five Pawns, Buckshot, Villain Vapors, Elysian Elixirs and many more.  

I didn't win any of the raffles but I did walk away with a bit of swag as well as some juice, ok a lot of juice. Here are some pictures from the meet today...

 The juice bar had all the flavors or juice that they carry, they gave you a ego style along with individually wrapped  silicone tip cover (tip condom) and you could pick and choose which flavors you wanted to try. (review coming in the near future on the The Vapor Project and what they carry)

Now lets get to the swag!!!  I got 2 shirts, a few vendors stickers and a bunch of juice the nic levels are mostly 0 and 6, but I was lucky to get at least one that was a 12 nic level. I will not pass up any juice, I might find something I really like and I'm going to start dripping, so the lower nic levels will be great for that and my other half vapes a lower nic level then I do.  =}

Dripping Misphitz hosted a great event at The Vapor Project and I had a great time. I am so glad I went and I plan on attending the next one. I only have one complaint, This has nothing to to with Dripping Misphitz or The Vapor Project, its the attendees, (a small amount of attendees) please be aware of what you are doing and the smaller people and don't be rude.

Drip-n-Rip Vapes - Shop Review

HI Everyone!  I was driving around on 79 and I looked off to my right and saw this place called Drip-N-Rip Vapes.  I went a head and turned around and went in.  This shop is so clean and organized and the way the store has been done is awesome.  I love the wood and metal (Conservative Industrial) theme of the shop, Oh and the guys are really nice too.  They are very knowledgeable, helpful and they actually like to talk to their customers and help them out.  I have now been in there a few times and they have always helped me out, as well as others I have seen go in.  I watched them talk a few new vapers through their new set ups and they didn't act like it was a hassle, they treat us more like friends then customers.  I have will be back soon to pick up a mod or 2 that they have.

I tried a few of their juice flavors...

Pink Bird - "Strawberry, peach and coconut" - It is modeled after a drink  - It was sweet and smooth, it really did taste like a drink.  I just can't put my finger on which drink it is because I'm not much of a drinker anymore.  It's a pretty good vape.

Smurf Berry - "Blueberry and strawberry goodness" - I got a hint if strawberry but the blueberry is more prevalent.  

Triple 5 - "English Tobacco" - This is a very smooth tobacco and it does taste like an English tobacco, it's very much an ADV!  If you like tobacco flavors, you have to try this one.

Berry Berry Good - "Mixed Berries" - I like this one, it reminds me of fruity pebbles.  A sweet, smooth fruity vape, but not overly sweet.  Also an ADV!

Butterscotch - "Candy" - I love butterscotch and this is the smoothest butterscotch vape I have ever had. You know the sweet smooth, melt in your mouth butterscotch candy?  The one that has been around for a long time and no one has been able to make anything close to it?  Yea thats the one, this butterscotch vape taste just like that.  I have tried a lot of butterscotch vapes and this one is the best and the smoothest I have ever had.

Drip-N-Rip Vapes is a new shop and they carry their own juice in 30ml bottles for only 15 bucks a bottle but they also carry Uncle Junks Juice too and are looking at a few others as well, but have not said who.  They also carry different tanks, mods and starter kits too.  Go check them at, they are at the corner of Sunrise and 79/Palm Valley Blvd in Round Rock.  1200 East Palm Valley Blvd. #1196 Round Rock, TX 78664

Lick Brand Vapors - Vapemail Summary

Hello Everyone!  We got Vapemail for review, Lick Brand Vapors came in the mail today.  I received the whole line of 8 juices including the newest one, Carmilla.  

Lick Brand Vapors uses beautiful cobalt blue glass bottles with clear droppers. They all came sealed with a thick black plastic seal, all the juices are mixed 60% VG / 40% PG.  I got all the juice in an 18 nic except the Carmilla it is a 12 nic.  The 18 nic batch for this juice was not fully steeped, they will not send out any juice until they are completely ready, fully steeped included.

Elite Vapor - A Shop Review

I went into Elite Vapor in Round Rock Texas, I was half ass greeted.  There was only one person working and I was the only person in the shop.  The shop smelled like a generic vapor shop, kind of new but you could definitely smell the tobacco scents as well.   They had great glass display and they were not cluttered or too stuffed to over whelm a new vaper.  I noticed there was any thing from your basic ego/kanger/vision starter kits all the way to expensive mods. There were 2 stations 1 in the front for fruity and desert juice flavors the 1 in the back was for tobacco and drinks, it looked like it was suppose to be set up like a social lounge.   Each flavor was in a small tank, 1.6 Ml tank. They where on a lazy susan and marked for each flavor.  There were suppose to be silicone tips for you to use to try each flavor, but there were not any silicon tip covers, not a single one.   The premium flavors were in a case you had to ask for them, the only premium juice he let me try was a Suicide Bunny and that was it, just one. As, I was there 2 guys walked in and they were greeted right away and then the guy conversed with them, unlike with me.

This is the set up of one of the "flavor stations"... (tobacco and drinks)  as you can tell there is a cup in the center, that is where the silicon tip covers are suppose to be and there is not a single one in there. I don't know if I'm the only one or not, my I think there should be a way to get them out (when they are in there) other then your hands, I don't want to grab one and stick it to my lips after everyone else has had there grubby hands in there. (just my opinion)

I did try a few of their flavors after wiping down the tips with an antibacterial wipe, but I couldn't tell the difference in them.  The tobacco flavors smelled and tasted the same, the dessert flavors also the same way. The juices have not been perfected, I'm not sure what the owner of this shop wanted out of this product but it seems like it was more about quantity and not quality.  So, my verdict is not good on this place.  I don't want to do any bad reviews, but I promise you guys I would always be honest.

I did get some silica and wire so I can rebuild my coil on my Nimbus clone for juice testing/tasting. I also bought a colorful drip tip (after leaving there I went to another shop and found the same tip 3 bucks cheaper)  The prices for certain things are in comparison to other shops, but there are other things that are more expensive.

I want to say again I don't really want to drop negative reviews, but I can't be anything but honest.  So, yes this is a negative review. You can check them out for yourself and see what you think, but I will not return, there are so many more shops popping up in the area so I will do more reviews good or bad on many more.
